Windows You'll Never Have to Think About Again

Ask anyone who's swapped tired uPVC or draughty timber for aluminium and they'll tell you the same two things: the rooms feel brighter, and the windows simply never need fussing over. No warping, no repainting, no swollen frames after a wet Suffolk winter — just slim, strong frames and a lot more glass. It's why aluminium windows have become one of the most requested upgrades we fit from our Newmarket base, in homes across Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Ely, Haverhill and throughout Suffolk and Essex.

We install the ALuK Optio 58BW window range, fabricated in Britain by Arkay Windows, in two beautiful variants: the 58BW Flush, a modern flush casement where the sash sits perfectly level with the frame, and the 58BW ST Slimline, a steel-look window with whisper-thin sightlines that suits everything from period cottages in Woodbridge to contemporary builds on Newmarket. Both are thermally broken to keep your home warm, tested to PAS 24 security standards, available in hundreds of colours, and fitted by our own installation team — never subcontractors. We can even pair them with the matching ALuK 58BD entrance door for a perfectly consistent look.

Every installation starts with a free, no-obligation survey, is protected by our 10-year guarantee, and is FENSA-certified for building regulations compliance.

Choose Your System

Not sure which is right for your home? The simple version: the 58BW Flush gives you a clean, seamless modern face; the 58BW ST Slimline gives you the elegant look of steel windows with the warmth and security of modern aluminium. Our consultants will walk you through both at your survey.

Our Flush Casement System

ALuK 58BW Flush

A beautifully engineered flush casement window that suits almost any home. The opening sash sits completely level with the outer frame, so from the street the whole window reads as one clean, uninterrupted face. Friction stays on the side-hung sashes give it outstanding weather resistance — perfect for exposed coastal spots like Felixstowe.

Lead Times

Survey to Installation: 8–10 Weeks

Every window is manufactured to your exact opening sizes, so from your free survey to installation day our current lead time is 8 to 10 weeks. Here's how it works: we survey and confirm final measurements, your windows go into production with Arkay, and we book your installation date — a typical whole-house installation takes one to three days, with our team leaving your home spotless. Bespoke RAL colours, anodised finishes or structural alterations can occasionally extend this, and we'll always give you an honest timeline at quotation stage.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the 58BW Flush and 58BW ST Slimline windows?
Both are premium thermally broken aluminium window systems from the ALuK Optio 58BW range, fabricated in Britain by Arkay Windows. The 58BW Flush is a modern flush casement: the opening sash sits perfectly level with the outer frame for a clean, seamless face — a lovely fit for both contemporary new builds and traditional cottages. The 58BW ST is our slimline steel-look option, with fixed-light sightlines from just 43mm and hardware styled after traditional steel windows, making it ideal for period properties, steel-window replacements and anyone who wants maximum glass. During your free survey we will help you choose the right system for your home, budget and the look you want.
How long does installation take from order?
Our current lead time from survey to installation is 8 to 10 weeks. Every window is manufactured to your exact opening sizes, so after your survey we confirm the final measurements, place the order with Arkay, and book your installation date. A typical whole-house window installation is completed in one to three days depending on the number of windows.
Do I need planning permission to replace my windows in Suffolk?
In most cases, no. Replacing existing windows with new ones of a similar appearance falls under Permitted Development and does not require planning permission. If your home is a listed building, sits within a conservation area, or is covered by an Article 4 Direction — which applies in parts of Suffolk — consent may be required, and the slimline steel-look 58BW ST is often a sympathetic choice in those situations. As a FENSA-registered installer we certify every installation for building regulations compliance, and our surveyor will advise you on any planning considerations during your free consultation.
Are aluminium windows cold or prone to condensation?
Not modern ones. Both of the systems we install use a polyamide thermal break — an insulating barrier inside the frame that stops heat escaping through the aluminium. The 58BW range achieves U-values from 1.4 W/m²K with double glazing and as low as 1.1 W/m²K with triple glazing, comfortably meeting current building regulations. That means warm frames, lower heating bills, and far less condensation than the old cold-frame aluminium windows some homeowners remember from the 1980s.
Can you supply a matching aluminium front door?
Yes. We install the matching ALuK 58BD HI residential entrance door, which shares the same profile family as the 58BW windows so the whole front of your home looks consistent. It is available in single and double configurations, open-in or open-out, with multi-point locking, PAS 24 security testing and the same huge range of colours — so your new front door can match your windows exactly.
What areas do you install aluminium windows in?
We are based in Newmarket and install across all surrounding areas including Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds, Ely, Haverhill, Newmarket, Rushmere St Andrew, and throughout Suffolk and Essex. If you're unsure whether we cover your area, call 01638 591 638.
Are your aluminium windows guaranteed?
Yes. Every installation comes with our comprehensive 10-year installation guarantee, and we are FENSA registered so your installation is certified as compliant with UK building regulations. The 58BW systems themselves are tested to PAS 24 and accredited under the police-backed Secured by Design scheme.
